Livingstone, Zambia

Same path. Starting to get interesting.

Livingstone, Zambia

Path to the gorge below the falls.

Livingstone, Zambia

The night before was a full moon, so we came to see the lunar rainbows. It was amazing. And seeing the falls by moonlight was better than by daylight. You could really see through all of the mist and spray. Was like being in a cloudless hurricane on a full moon night. Really cool stuff. Ran into another volunteer from Rundu, so was just one of those nights where everything came together. Should happen more often in life.

Look ma, no rails, but so beautiful. The amount of water flowing here makes you feel like you have vertigo. No joke. It's crazy. Makes you realize how small and fragile the human body is.

Victoria at last. Why did I wait so long to come here? I mean besides being really busy with work. Need to start taking more vacations. I'm starting to understand that it doesn't make much sense to be a volunteer full and not to take breaks when people who work full time and get paid take vacations. Goal for the year, take another break at some point.

AK47 and a visa stamp is my cue to head out. Somehow though, I'm intrigued by omens of what's ahead. Just stepping out of the country is a huge relief. Though, while this guy was walking around me, I was on the phone arguing budget details for an upcoming training. Damn that MTC network and being so close to Namibia. But I'm glad we got it sorted out. Less to think about while I'm away.

Welcome to Zambia. Sweet

Goodbye Nam. Hello rest and new perspective!

Caprivi

The house is almost done! The whole week leading up to Easter I was in Caprivi doing site visits and working with Project Hope's Katima office. Working two jobs isn't too much fun. Kind of overwhelming. I'm finding that I admin type jobs aren't as much fun as community work. Unless you're getting paid for the extra stress. Which I am not.

We held a meeting for the EWA youth camp at my place. EWA stands for everyone wants aceptance. Its a youth camp that foucuses on gender awarness, HIV, and lifeskills. These volunteers are really dedicated! If anyone would like further information or to make a donation, please let me know!

Rundu

My first catch, and it was a tigerfish. These fish hit hard and fight like crazy. Having a canoe and a guy who has fished the river his whole life makes a big diffrence! Going again in the morning with more lures. This guy destroyed my plastic lure. Check out his teeth.
